First Time Boarding with Us At Wilkinson?

Below is a comprehensive list of everything you need to know about boarding with us to ensure the best experience for you and your animal during their pet boarding in Alice and Premont.

Vaccines

Before we perform any service (Boarding, Day Care, Nail Trim, or Bath) we require all dogs and cats have proof from a licensed veterinarian of the following:

  • Dogs – Rabies, DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis, Parvo, Parainfluenza), Leptospirosis, Bordetella (Kennel Cough)
  • Cats – Rabies, FVRCCP (Feline Herpes, Calicivirus, Chlamydophila, Panleukopenia), FeLV (Feline Leukemia)

Pets that are exempt from vaccines by their veterinarian are accepted here. Must have documentation from your veterinarian. Vets occasionally do this for the health and safety of the animal.

We do our best to make this easy on you. You can email it to us at info@WilkinsonVetClinic.com or bring in a hard copy to us. You can also have your vet call us or give us your vet’s info so we can call them.

Handling

For pets that are aggressive, difficult/challenging to handle, or that require significantly more time, effort, or staff to handle, there will be a $7.5 handling fee on top of the price of the requested service.

If we are not able to safely handle your pet, we may need to sedate them for handling. If your pet is sedated, no handling fee will be added.

Unfortunately, we are not able to handle all aggressive pets without sedation. We are not able to board dangerous or aggressive pets.

What Do I Need to Bring?

We provide everything your pet needs to be comfortable during their pet boarding in Alice and Premont. However, you may want to bring the following items to help them settle in:

Food

We encourage you to bring your pet’s food. This ensures they eat food that they’re accustomed to during their stay.

Please have your pet’s  food and treats labeled. We recommend pre-packaging each meal in individual zip-lock bags.

Please do not bring large dog food bags. Exceptions are available for long-term lodging guests. If needed, we will provide our in-house food at no extra charge which is a digestive-friendly premium prescription food.

Medications

If your pet is on any prescription medication, the medication must be in the original packaging from your veterinarian with instructions (additional fee applies).

Additional Items

You’re welcome to bring small blankets and bedding. We are unable to wash beds and blankets that your pet gets dirty.

Please contact our team with any specific questions you have that may not be covered in the above. We’re always happy to help!

What Not to Bring

Collars and/or Leads

Do not leave your leash – we have leashes. You may leave a collar with identifying information.

Large Dog Food Bags

Please do not bring large dog food bags – exceptions are available for long-term lodging guests only.
