Shockwave Therapy

We seek out creative, new therapies to avoid invasive surgery. Alternative therapies like shockwave relive pain without the damaging effects of surgery to treat many common issues.

An acoustic wave is created using our shockwave machine. These waves travel into the tissue and stimulate blood flow, metabolism, and bone growth. The treatment last for about 10 minutes and is an out-patient procedure with little to no negative side-effects. Shockwave Therapy is a non-invasive alternative to surgery in many cases.

What is Shockwave Therapy used for in veterinary medicine?

Our team uses Shockwave Therapy to treat problems such as joint pain/arthritis, muscle pain, stress fractures, tendon and ligament injuries, and other non-healing wounds.

At Wilkinson Veterinary Clinic, we do our best to avoid surgical intervention at all cost if possible. Our veterinarian believes that when non-invasive treatment is an option it can be better than surgery because we are able to eliminate many of the cons that are inherent with surgical procedures such as infection and healing time.

Shockwave therapy is very successful at reducing pain and healing time associated with both age and trauma.
